“The customer is the hero.”
We’ve all heard it. It sounds simple… until you actually try to build a brand around it.
Because the truth is—while the customer should be the hero, your company still has to show up as the guide. The authority. The one with a clear point of view and a real solution. And balancing those two roles? That’s the hard part.
I’ve wrestled with this while building ETS.
This brand is deeply personal. It comes from my own experience being hit by a tornado and wishing I had something—anything—that could have helped me feel prepared. So naturally, my story is part of it.
But the goal was never to make it about me. It’s about the person opening that box.
That’s why the very first message they see is:
“You Now Have A Plan.”
Not my story. Not product specs. Not features.
A shift in their story.
From there, we connect the dots—why this matters, and how I wish I had this exact solution six years ago.
Customer = the hero.
Brand = the guide.
Huge credit to the team at ERO Media for helping bring that balance to life.
If you’re building a brand, here’s the real challenge:
Can you tell your story in a way that makes your customer feel like the main character?
That’s the difference between a message people hear… and one they actually feel.
